Canvas weight
Fabric weight is the first figure to ask for. In our catalogue, 5 m bell tents come in cotton canvas up to 380 g/m², on one model with a 540 g/m² canvas groundsheet, and in lighter versions at 285 g/m². Heavier canvas costs more and is harder to move, while lighter canvas is cheaper and simpler to handle. There are also PU-coated 900D Oxford versions, which do not have the same look or feel as cotton.
Waterproofing
Supplier data for these tents shows waterproof ratings from about 1500 to over 3000 mm, depending on the model. Treat these as suppliers’ figures unless there is a report, and ask whether they cover both tent and floor. Cotton canvas needs to be dried before storage, so plan your staff time and space for that.
Packed size and weight
A 5 m tent in our catalogue ships in a carton of about 110–127 × 35–37 cm at around 35–37 kg. For a site that means two people to move each tent, and for an importer it means sea freight is usually the sensible route. Ask for the carton data before you compare prices.
What drives the price
- Canvas type and weight, and groundsheet
- Frame material: iron, steel or aluminium
- Diameter: 3 to 7 m models exist; 5 m is the common size for 8–10 people
- Number of units, and any logo or custom colour
- Freight, based on carton volume
Product pages on our tents page show an indicative “from” price. The offer shows it delivered to your address.
Ask about fire before you buy
Requirements vary by country, authority and insurer, so find out what yours asks for before you choose a model. Then ask the supplier for evidence on that exact fabric. We do not make a general claim for all tents.
Fit-out list for one unit

- Picnic blanket
All of these can go in one shipment. Send your list and number of units through our campsites and glamping page.
Test one first
Some bell tents have a supplier minimum of one piece. Pitch a sample on your own ground, leave it through bad weather, and then decide. Allow a winter order for an opening in spring.
